Information for students of Radboud University (RU) and HAN University of Applied Sciences (HAN)

Guesthouse Nijmegen and Guesthouse Arnhem are housing agencies that collaborate with Radboud University and HAN University of Applied Sciences to house students in Nijmegen and Arnhem. This is how it works:

Students that are enrolled at the University will receive a voucher from RU or HAN. Don’t share this voucher with others! This voucher entitles you to apply for the accommodation of your choice;
First, you need to register as candidate tenant on KLIKenHUUR by filling in personal details, creating an account and by paying a €35,- fee (with Credit or Debit card). After you have registered, you can apply for the accommodation of your choice. You have two options:
1. Rooms that are marked orange: You need a voucher to apply for these rooms. The rooms are furnished (shortstay). These rooms are known by and discussed with RU and HAN. For these rooms the following applies: the first person that chooses a room and finalizes payment, will get the room.
2. Other rooms. Every candidate tenant that is registered on KLIKenHUUR can apply for these options (maximum 3 per week). You don’t need to have a voucher to apply for these rooms. There will be a draw to decide who gets the room.
To secure the Orange rooms, you need to pay directly through the KlikenHuur website. You have to pay an amount that consists of the following:
1. The rent for the first month;
2. The deposit as a warranty for the owner (€ 800): the deposit will be returned at the end of the rental agreement if the room is clean and undamaged;
3. The starter kit (€ 150): this kit will be handed out to you when you pick up your keys at our office or will be put into your room. Please see below for the contents of the starter kit.
After the payment is finalized, you will receive a rental agreement and several attachments. You will be requested to sign the rental agreement digitally. After we receive the signed rental agreement, the owner of the house will sign the agreement after which the rental is finalized.
We want to emphasize that every voucher is personalized and can only be used ones. If you hand out your voucher to someone else and this person applies for a different room using the same voucher, all applications that used this voucher will be deleted.
NB: when you receive a voucher, the voucher can be used for maximum 7 days. The voucher will become invalid after 7 days. You are still able to apply for other rooms for over 2 months (maximum 3 per week).
